OHIO ROD N REEL SERVICE & RATES

Upon receipt of your reel, we will review the reel service form and perform a visual inspection of the reel and then notify you by phone or email that we have received your reel.

When cleaning and servicing your reel, we will take the reel completely apart and will clean all dirt, crud and old grease from each individual piece and clean the inside and outside of the reel body and frame using a biodegradable cleaner in our ultrasonic parts cleaner! Each part is then inspected for wear and /or flaws.

During re-assembly we will lube all moving parts with the appropriate lube for your reel, we prefer to use Super Lube, TG's Rocket Fuel and Shimano Drag Grease, your reels will be treated as if they were ours.

We can also change out the bearings using ABEC-5 or 7's for increased performance if you so desire. We can also change out your drag washers to the new smooothy drags.

What are ABEC Bearings:

The ABEC scale is a system for rating the manufacturing tolerances of precision bearings. The system was developed by the Annular Bearing Engineering Committee or Council (ABEC) of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA). The American Bearing Manufacturers Association was formerly known as the Anti-Friction Bearing Manufacturers Association.

What Does ABEC Mean?

Bearings rated under the ABEC system are typically called "precision bearings", and they are rated with a number from 1 to 9, with the higher number assigned to bearings manufactured against a higher standard of precision (high number = tighter tolerances = more expensive bearing).

If a reel is sent in for repair and the cost of parts will make the overall repair cost not cost-effective we will return the reel for a $5.00 bench fee plus shipping or we will scrap and keep the reel for parts at no charge.

We reserve the right to sell any item after the customer has been notified of completion of the work and the item goes unclaimed / unpaid after 90 days.
